Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Chicago CMM Calibration ("we," "us," or "the directory") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information submitted through the calibration quote request platform. By submitting a request or otherwise interacting with the Site, you consent to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
The directory collects information in the following categories:
1a. Information You Submit
- Identifiers — name, company name, email address, telephone number;
- Location identifier — ZIP / postal code, used only for provider routing;
- Equipment information — CMM make, model, current calibration interval;
- Service preferences — required standard (ISO 10360-2, ISO 10360-5, ASME B89.4.10360.2, etc.), delivery preference (on-site / in-laboratory), target timeline;
- Free-form details — any additional context you choose to provide.
1b. Information Collected Automatically
- Technical access data — IP address, user-agent string, referring URL, timestamps;
- Cookies and similar technologies, where used. The directory does not currently set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Where session cookies are used, they exist for spam control and form-state preservation only.
2. How Information Is Used
Information you submit is used to:
- Route the request to a Listed Provider whose scope of accreditation matches the equipment and standard requirement;
- Allow that Listed Provider to contact you directly with a scoped quote;
- Maintain a record of the routed request for audit and dispute resolution;
- Improve the routing logic and the quality of provider matching over time.
Information is not used to build advertising profiles. The directory does not sell personal information to third parties.
3. With Whom Information Is Shared
3a. Listed Providers
The request data you submit is shared with the Listed Provider matched to your request. The Listed Provider operates under its own privacy policy once you are in direct contact. The directory's responsibility ends at routing; further communication is between you and the Listed Provider.
3b. Service Providers
The directory uses third-party processors for hosting (static site delivery, form processing), email transit, and telephone routing. These processors are bound to use the data only to deliver the service to Chicago CMM Calibration and not for their own purposes.
3c. Legal Process
The directory may disclose information when required by subpoena, court order, regulatory demand, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the directory, its users, or the public.
4. Data Retention
Request records are retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the routing, support the Listed Provider relationship, resolve disputes, and meet legal recordkeeping obligations. Buyers may request deletion at any time; see Section 7.
5. Data Security
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are in place to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. These include TLS encryption for data in transit and access controls on processor systems. No data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed 100% secure; submission is at your own risk.
6. Children's Privacy
The Site is directed to industrial buyers and is not intended for children under 16. The directory does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact the directory at the address in Section 9 and the record will be deleted.
7. Your Rights
You may at any time request to:
- Access the personal information held about you;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Delete personal information, subject to legal retention obligations;
- Opt out of further contact regarding your request;
- Receive a copy of your information in a portable format.
Requests may be submitted via the contact page or directly to the email address in Section 9.
8. California Privacy Notice (CCPA / CPRA)
Residents of California have the right under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"), to:
- Know what personal information is collected, used, and disclosed;
- Request deletion of personal information;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. The directory does not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Limit use of sensitive personal information;
- Non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
To exercise these rights, submit a verifiable request via the contact page. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with proof of authorization.
9. Other State Privacy Laws
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other US states with comprehensive privacy statutes have analogous rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out under their respective laws. Requests will be processed in accordance with the applicable state statute. The directory does not engage in targeted advertising or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
10. Contact for Privacy Requests
Privacy requests, questions, and complaints may be directed to Chicago CMM Calibration at [email protected], or via the contact page. The Terms of Service are available at terms.
11. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The effective date at the top reflects the date of last revision. Material changes will be reflected at the top of the document; continued use of the Site after a revision constitutes acceptance.
